The sport

Swimming, set to music

Artistic swimming — once called synchronized swimming — combines swimming, dance and gymnastics into routines performed in the water, solo or as a team. Swimmers build strength, flexibility, breath control and timing, and perform to music.

BC Aquasonics is a not-for-profit club in Coquitlam & Surrey, BC. It has over 25 years of artistic swimming in British Columbia. Athletes of all genders are welcome.

Why kids love it

  • Fun activities, music and creativity — that is how Beginner Recreational introduces the sport.
  • Strength, flexibility, coordination and confidence, in the water and on deck.
  • Friendships in a supportive club, where swimmers learn skills together.
  • Recreational athletes are not expected to attend competitions.
