BCAQ Hosting December Meet

BCAQ is the co-host Club (shared with VPW) for the National Stream Regionals/Provincial Stream Training Meet, Dec 11-13 at SSLC. In addition to on-deck volunteers, as the Host Club, we are responsible for:

  • providing food and volunteers for the Officials Room
  • ensuring all volunteer positions are filled
  • filling the Host Club volunteers spots including set-up and clean-up, volunteer coordination, etc

We will need all BCAQ families who have athletes competing at this meet to help with at least 1 volunteer shift each and provide a dish/food item for the Officials Room. We also need a coordinator for the hospitality room. You will earn Club FCP points for any hours you work.

Please watch your email for the online volunteer sign-up links – the coveted scoring assistant jobs go fast!

Christmas Party – Wear All Black

Athletes and Coaches – you are all invited to the BC Aquasonics Christmas Party. Please come dressed all in black (fancy or casual – your choice!) on Friday, December 4th, 5:30pm – 8:30pm at the Club House in the Highbrae Townhouse complex, 14952 58Ave, Surrey:

  • Potluck Dinner (Bring a dish to share)
  • Team Skits (Get your team together to plan a skit, song, or game for the party)
  • Team Photo Shoot and Selfie Photo Booth

SPECIAL PROJECT: We will also be filling and bedazzling stockings (synchro style!) for girls in our community who are living in difficult circumstances this Christmas. We will be helping Atira Women’s Resource Society create a special Christmas for moms and their children who have had to leave abusive homes and now live in safe women’s housing in our area. We will need everyone’s help to make this possible – more information to come!

Parents are welcome to join the festivities too!

No Peanuts!

Please do not send any peanuts or any food containing peanuts to any BC Aquasonics activity. We have two athletes with severe peanut allergies.

Follow BCAQ on Instagram

Coach Sam has started a BC Aquasonics Instagram page – you can find us at

All photos posted to Instagram will be approved by our coaches first. If athletes wish to tag the photos with their name, it will be their responsibility to do so. Please discuss your family rules around social media use with your athlete.

BC Summer Games Trials

As part of the December meet, all Provincial and National Stream athletes who will be between the ages of 12 and 15 in 2016 will participate in the BC Summer Games Trials. Please contact your coach with any questions.

Uniform Pants

Lululemon Groove Pants have been ordered for the National Stream athletes.

We have chosen Triple Flip pants for the Provincial Stream athletes – sizing will be happening this month!

Making Payments

For payment of your BC Aquasonics invoices, please pay by email money transfer to whenever possible. (For passwords, it is easiest to use your daughter’s care card number as this is something that can easily be looked up by our administrator and you will not have to email it separately.) For help, making an e-transfer, contact Alicia.

If you need to pay by cheque, please mail it to our address on the invoice. Coaches cannot accept payments – any cheques sent to them will be returned to you.

Kerry Blades will be coordinating a Panago Pizza coupons sale and a Meridian Meats sale. Watch for more information coming soon.

If you have an old or new fundraising idea that you would like to run with, please contact Jody Roberts. The coordinator of any fundraising activity earns volunteer hours towards the Family Commitment Plan and the profits of any fundraising go directly to the families participating.
